Shrimp attack!

So I just put some shrimp in my tank with my betta in it and an amusing thing happened...The betta (Dr.Gomez is his name)was huffing and puffing at the shrimps and then out of nowhere all the shrimps start to chase him away and managed to scare him off to the other side of the tank! Has this ever happened to anyone before? Or did I just manage to get my hands on a wimpy betta/evil shrimps?

Ha! Yep...my boy Leonidas has shrimp buddies in the tank. It happens the most at feeding time. The shrimp get bold ebough to try and steal his pellets. He'll chase one away and another will sneak in and steal the food. To be fair though, he occasionally gets their shrimp food before the shrimp can grab it. I'd say it's a love-hate relationship...

No, It was not during feeding time. It was when I just put the shrimps in the tank. Dr.Gomez seems to have regained dominance though...at least he thinks he has. The shrimps are still in charge if you ask me.

mini lobster attacks my male betta!

I just got a mini lobster 3 days ago and he has been fine. None of my fish bother him but after he shed he has been very bold coming out all the time. Just a few min ago my betta comanche was lounging at the bottom and the lobster pulled a few of the string parts of his fins out and ate them. What should i do?? My betta is very sweet and is they are in a 10 gal tank.

Lobsters are very aggressive. I would recommend moving the lobster to another tank. They HATE other fish and see them as food, not companions. Same goes for crayfish. I know what I am talking about, I tried to have a crayfish in a community tank and the next day all the fish were gone. As for the fin, it should grow back as long as that lobster isn't there.

The stress of the move probably made him mad. That may be why he lashed out.
