Harlequin Tetras and a Betta??

I have a new little tank set up in my bedroom, its 25 litres (thats 6.6 gallons :P) and I was originally going to get a few different types of different little fishies, but then I thought that maybe I could get a betta and give him a few tankmates. I was thinking a small group of kuhli loaches for the bottom (which should be fine) but I was thinking of getting maybe 4-5 harlequin tetras?? the tank has a fair amount of hiding spots (I have two fake log ornament thingies that have hiding holes in them, and I am going to get a few fake plants as hiding spots too)

Basically my question is, are harlequin tetras good tankmates for bettas? if not then what kind of small fish would be more suitable as tankmates?

thanks :)

they are rasboras.

BUT people on this forum will probably not recommend any FISH as tank mates in a 6.6 gallon. i'd recommend shrimp, or snails, but not fish.

Yeah I had a feeling they wouldn't work :S
Is it still not worth the risk if there are plenty of hiding spaces?

It's not the hiding places that's the problem but rather the bio load.

I never thought about that :S how often do you think water changes would need to be done if the tank had a few rasboras, a betta, and a few kuhis?

6.6 gallon you were looking at 30-40% water changes weekly for a cycled and filtered tank with JUST a single betta. You'd be looking at performing water changes every few days just to keep the ammonia from spiking.

2 5.5 Gallons - 1 Male VT black and blue - Comet
1 Male CT white and red - Rocket

Plants - Water Wisteria, Hornwort.

Hmm, I'll have to think about it a bit more, thanks everyone for responding to my questions :)

Maybe a better option is to get a betta and a pair of corydoras ^_^
