Comapatability Question

I have a heavily filtered 10 gal, could I put in 4 or 5 neons with my 5 girls?

3 gal- Blue/red male veiltail
10 gal- Sorority

Sweet! :) I plan on converting it to a NPT when I get the money together to get it set up, but for now I have a filter that is for a 20-40 gallon in there. There are also SO many silk plants and hide-y caves its ridiculous

Neon tetras are great but keep up with water changes. Just in case one of your females is aggressive make sure there are lots of hiding spots.

Also to add on if their is any aggression and extra hiding spots don't work you can rearrange the decor in the tank to "reset" the tank.

Rat bellies are a gateway drug...and I'm addicted

So far there has been almost zero aggression. There have been a few "back down" type stares but everyone is getting along great :)

.....I wouldn't suggest putting a school of neons in a 10 gallon with a Sorority. While neons are generally peaceful and you sound like you have great filtration, it comes down to space. Neons are an active schooling species that need space to swim around and school......with five active betta girlies claiming all that swimming space, there really just isn't enough for a proper school of neons to be comfortable IMO.

That would be too heavy a bio-load. 5 females is almost fully stocked, so adding a school of neons too would be too much. It would also be very cramped, so fighting would be likely.

10 Gallon Tank:
~Countless Pond Snails~1 Espe's Rasbora~1 Harlequin Rasbora~

5 and 5.5 Gallon Tanks:
~empty~

Many of my scaly friends from my original tank from 2011 have passed, except for two! I am in the process of re-doing my tank. :)
