Tank Buddies

So I have a 5 gallon tank now with Aquarius and in a few more hours an ADF, could I keep two or three ghost shrimp in the tank later as well or would that be too much? Also soon my 2.5 for Nix will show up and eventually I want to put ghost shrimp in there but could I? Would there be enough space for them?

sorry to say, but a 5g with a betta and an ADF is fully stocked, unless you fancy drastic daily water changes and territory fights.

So remember, when you're feeling very small and insecure,
How amazingly unlikely is your birth,
And pray that there's intelligent life somewhere up in space,
'Cause there's bugger-all down here on Earth.

What about the 2.5 gallon, any room for a shrimp or two in that?

I have 3 otocinclus and 7 cherry shrimp in my tank with my betta and they seem to be doing fine so far. As long as my filter keeps flowing the load isnt to much just means two water changes a week to keep it clean and clear plus the drift wood and plants give them space to hide from each other if needed

You can put shrimp in a 2.5 gallon, they have a very small bioload, but are really sensitive to ammonia.
And they are aggressive to each other if overstocked. I'd get some floating plants and shove them in the 2.5. And they eat practically anything.

Get like 10 for the 2.5 and see how it works out. (:

wow 10, I might go with five max even if shrimp are cheap just so I don't load up too much. GAH and Candyman WHERE DID YOU GET YOUR CHERRY SHRIMP???? I have been looking EVERYWHERE and not a cherry shrimp in sight.

Two of my local fish shops have a large stock of them in at the moment with some cross breads and cyristal shrimp as well. But im UK based so i doubt that helps.

I was told a few online stores do them for export but not sure they survive well in transit :/.

There fun little pets, really active in my tank at the moment :D

Was reading that you could put 10 to a gallon. And its always why I said to get floating plants, so they could hide in it. (:

I really want cherry shrimp but yeah, if I imported from oversea's I don't think they would make the trip unfortunately. Someone has to have them in the states.
