It lives!!

It's been a few weeks since I got my Amano shrimp and I thought he only lived for 24 hours before my betta got him.

Imagine my surprise when I was adjusting the filter and out shoots the shrimp!! Over the next hour it shot from spot to spot on his covert path back to his hideaway by the filter. I am soo happy!!

I guess the shrimp are more wiley and clever than I thought. I hesitated getting another for the other tanks...now I might just go and get another.

Definitely do it! Shrimp are much better at surviving than many people give them credit for. :) Shrimp are colony animals, too, so they'll be happier in groups. :)

oh yeah, shrimp are beasts at hiding out!! I originally bought 10 like 6 months ago, and thought I only had 2 left for about 3-4 months...nope, found out I have 4 left!

My rcs are amazing hiders too! They are in my fry tank so all they have to hide out in are plants floating around, yet out of my 20+ I only ever see maybe 5 at a time?

10 HM, 3 HMPK, 5 HMPK fry
8 German Blue Ram, 5 Green Dragon BNP, 4 Albino BNP, 4 Calico BNP, 6 Red BNP, 5 Kuhli Loaches, 2 ADF, 7 Peppered Cories, & 6 Tiger Endlers + Fry
12 full time tanks, 4 NPT, 6 QT/Breeders

They're brilliant at hiding. I was sure the glass shrimp in Feyd's tank had bitten the dust, as I hadn't seen them in a fortnight, but the other night they were just chilling on the driftwood, like, "What? We've been here the whole time, doofus..."

+1
My 2 amano got bolder when I got 2 more for them. Now they are like mafia robbing and mugging algae wafers from the Golden Mystery Snail and baby RCS as Gang of 4. They can get pretty ruthless. I guess if I put a fish in there, they will behave better. They grew by 1/2" in 2 months, almost 2" long now.

Thanks

WOW, I had no idea they got so huge! And I thought the big red cherry girls that were nearly an inch long were large!

Life.

This is great to hear this from everyone. Of all the research I did I never came across anything about their secret agent style demeanor. They're super cool.

correction on the length of Amano:
It is 1.5" long, not 2".

Thanks
