Is it too late?

This evening around 1800 EST I came home and fed my betta. About midnight I went to turn the tank light off after watching a movie and I saw this. Is it too late? Should I euthanize?

How do you euthanize a snail? I would just separate him and see if he gets better.

I guess in a sandwich bag covered with a towel and something heavy?

I can't tell how much of him is missing though. Unless he can regenerate his head then not much I can do.

Put him in a Tupperware with a pretty tight lid. He may or may not be okay. If you choose to euthanize I would think it would be the same as a goldfish or betta.

well...this morning he was in the same spot so I put him next to a plant to make him feel more secure. A short time later he started to climb and explore a compact sword plant. His overall body size is about half of what it should be but I have noticed that he is more skiddish. It might take a few days but he might be OK.

Wow. After seeing that picture, I'm amazed that he's alive, much less climbing plants.... Hardy little guy....

well, today he was back to himself and climbing up tank walls and such. Although he is about half of what he used to be I am glad to see he is still alive and kicking.

Looks like his species will join the cockroaches as the last survivors on the planet.
