Would they be ok as 6 in my tank or is it too overstocked? I have great spaces for hiding and I plan to get some more decorations. I don't know anything else that would work so any other suggestions? I want to stay away from livebearers because I feel like I've had my share of them haha

That would overstock your tank not to mention filtration problems ...

Do you only want fish? Snails and shrimp are cool.

I ended up getting two Rasyboras. :) They are great, and hopefully they soon learn where Ranger has staked his territory.

Rasboras are schooling fish that do best in groups of 6 or more and they also tend to be very docile and easily intimidated. They're definitely awesome little fish, but not really be the best fit for your tank, or to put it another way, your tank is not a very suitable environment for the 2 rasboras.

How's this for muchness?

They seem to be doing well? Ranger isn't half as territorial when I'm not sitting and watching them, it's weird. The two platies and the two rasyboras have become great buddies. If anything comes to worst, I can always move Ranger to a seperate 5 gal.

Rasboras need to be in schools of at least 6.
