Other fish in a sorority?

I have a 20 long housing my axolotl's and when they get upgraded I have a tank to do whatever I want with :P I would LOVE to do 5 females in a heavily planted tank with 5 Corydoras ... I would like to maybe have a school of something as well but I don't know about the safety of this.

In a heavily planted 20g with proper water changes and filtration, you could do 5 bettas, 4 cories, and a trio of endler guppies! It would be quite the display.

I would love tetras ... but 15 fish in one tank would be a few too many

Yea... Tetras need big schools and IMO endlers look better.

15 fish is not too many for a 20 G, its the kind of fish you also have to consider. I have 6 female bettas, 8 false julii corycats, 3 albino corydoras, 2 upside down catfish, no idea how many ghost shrimp and 2 or 3 nerite snails. My tank is 16 gallons.

My tank is planted and the water tests are always perfect. The tank is not as crowded as you think. They all have plenty of room. The corydoras though seem crowded but they enjoy shoaling and there is enough space during the day I can't find half of them until feeding time.

I've about hit my limit. I may add 2 more female bettas in the future.

I never see endlers here. I will see when the time comes but what other fish may be an option?

If you added a small school of neon tetras I think you would be fine. I had some neons with my sorority for awhile and they did great. Just make sure to test your water parameters and such. :)
