Betta Compatability

What are all the fish, snails, and plants a betta is compatible with?
I am looking to upgrade my tank to 15+ gallons, and I want to know what else I can have in an aquarium with my betta...
Also, how many girls could I have in one tank?

umm you should put either sex together as in if your keeping other fish just dont put another betta females tend to fight too...also if your going to put other fish go for peacefull small fish that grow maybe 3inch and arent colorfull or with big flowing tail or fins put a tropical fish with it :3 itll do well

nothing nippy like barbs or flashy like guppies, obviously you cant put anything like a goldfish in either as it has different water requirements... i have heard cories and some non flashy tetras work pretty well, just a non flashy, peacefull fish that does not have flowing fins. i also have ghost shrimp with one of my males in a 2.5 gallon and they are ok.

females, over 10 gallon tank, lots of hiding holes and no less tahn 4 to a group, 2 will attack each other, with 3 2 will pick on one. some females are not suitable for this but others are fine, i have 4 females in a 30 gallon (not because i wanted a big tank, its just what i had) they fought the first day but have been fine since.
