I have a male veil tale betta and i want to put some afican dwarf frogs in his tank as well. probably two. i read that i need to feed my betta live food if i want to do this? is that true or can i continue to feed him the pellets that i have been?

From what I understand it is the frogs that will require life food as they will not eat anything unless it is moving. Blood worms are the most common thing I have heard. Your betta could still eat the pellets or whatever you have him on, but he may also chase after some blood worms too.

What size is the tank? Provided it's roomy enough, and your betta doesn't pick on the frogs, it will work nicely. Frogs will eat just about any food (sinking shrimp pellets will work well). Their eyesight is rather poor, so they won't be able to out compete the betta for food, so just make sure they're all getting fed.

ya good luck with that one...had one myself...bought day after got Blue, and he literally pecked her to death.
Think he "got rid of her" as she only ate his favorite food...blood worms :S

Your actually not supposed to feed them pellets all the time. They love frozen blood worms. You can feed them pellets some times but it tends to make them constipated.
