Ok, so I'm about to go to Petsmart to get a bigger aquariam (about 6 gallons)... Which other fish will go well with my female betta?? I know I won't be able to put them in right away bc I'll need to let the filter run for a while! Help!

neon tetras, zebra danios, ottos, mystery snails, some bettas tolerate shrimp, but i don't reccomend it. You could also get FEMALE guppies, but NO males. cardinal tetras are good too, but they are SUPER hard to keep in a small tank. try 3 ottos, and 5 neon tetras with one female betta. That willl prly work out great!

I've heard that danios were too hyper for bettas.

I have two six gl. with a betta in each. One betta has otos as his tankmates and they all do very well together. My other betta will soon have 6 or so pygmy cories to join him. I prefer to keep peaceful bottom dwellers w/ my bettas. I don't want to worry about fin nipping, aggression, etc. so I take the easy way out...

Yep, I'd say danios are out when it comes to bettas. WAY too hyper!

If you don't stand up for something you'll fall for anything...

thanks!!! i'm writing all this down so i can take it tomorrow- I'm getting the fish tomorrow, I got the tank set up and going for 24 hours before I put anything in. Also, how many fish could I put in a 3 gallon tank with a betta? I've got 2 betta's and i don't want to make the other one lonely!

Bettas have different personalities. I guess some can tolerate danios better than others. :)
