What would you do if your new betta was aggressive to tankmates?

I'm getting a new betta soon (next week, I hope!). I have 6 harlequin rasboras in my tank. My first betta, Milo, got along with them just fine. But what if my new betta attacks them?

Would you adopt out the rasboras, or the betta? It's such a tough call...

5.5 - Xerxes. Divided 20L - Henrietta & many snails.

Swimming in the warm waters of betta heaven: Milo, Dragon, Jasper, Shiloh.

I'd have a second tank ready just in case.

Hm. :/ I've wanted a "backup" tank for a long time, but... money's tight. I will look into it, though. Craigslist has great deals sometimes.

Maybe wait until you have a backup setup on hand? You can always use it as a hospital setup. :)

+1 to the backup setup idea. I'd personally wait until I had a properly sized back up tank with the works ready as a possible permanent home for the betta just in case things didn't work out as well. You really just never know.
