Nerite?

I'm considering a single nerite right now. My tank is 2.5 gallons with very high lighting, the front glass where the light is most intense gets really fast algae growth. I been scrubbing everyday but I think a nerite would do a better job of cleaning than me.

Have anyone ever had a 2.5 gallon with a netrite + betta? My tank is very planted and I do 25% water changes every 3 days so I think it should be okay?

Any thoughts?

What kind of algae is it, I think they only eat a certain kind but can't remember for certain. I have some in my tanks but there are also other types of snails & my tanks are crystal clear. I think with the maintenance you do adding a nerite would be OK.

I think you can add one. It's planted.

10 gallon:
1 Dwarf Gourami - Balin
8 Neon Tetras
1 Otocinclus

RIP Plagueis.

I have just regular green algae.

I will try taking breaks with lighting first but I don't want to reduce plant growth so I might end up getting a nerite. I just didn't want to have to worry about getting snail food if it run out of algae.

8 hrs of light has been plenty for my plants but I don't have anything "exotic". Snail food . . . I drop algae wafers once a week & I feed cucumber from time to time but I've not seen my Nerites eating them, doesn't mean they don't when I'm not looking.
