5 gallon tankmates

I'm dividing a 5 gallon between my male and female betta. My male doesnt like any fish but I was thinking of getting a snail. I wanted a mystery snail but I don't want anything that will eat my plants. Any suggestions? I'm open to any small animal

No fish. Maybe some shrimps but depends if your Betta will eat them or not, provide enough cover and they should be fine, they're nice and cute and small bioloads, eat just about everything.

Snails you could do a nerite snails, they're relatively small, their eggs can't hatch in freshwater, they eat mostly algae.

Hope that helps. :)

If I get a snail will it eat my plants? I had a big snail problem in my 30 gallon and they tore through my banana plants

Nope, IME they only eat decaying leaves and stems. What type were yours? o.O

I think you're already stocked, two fish in a 5G is good.

Over hundreds of bettas die in their small, dirty cups each day. Only you can help them live. Research and then save them, today!

Nerites are mainly algae eaters and should not eat live plants... They may eat dead or decomposing ones though.

Like Micho said, the only appropriate tankmates would be nerite snails or shrimp.

Yeah I didn't really want another fish. Like I said, my betta doesn't really get along with them anymore. Hes an old grouch lol.

I had MTS in the thirty gallon. Really bad case of them too.
