How many tankmates in a 12g?

Right now we just have one Betta in a 12g, but down the line we'd like to add some tankmates. We're using the Eclipse 12 tank with it's standard filters and a 50w heater.

Here's my novice, I have no clue if it'll work, dream team:

1 male betta
2 ADFs
3 Ottos
6 Pygmy Corys

Am I off my rocker, or will this work? If that's too many for that size tank, at what point should I stop? They're in the order I want them most, top to bottom.

I have less then that in a 33 gallon, I mean unless they're really tiny fish I'd advise against that Betta's don't like crowds-and have teeth and get short tempered when crowded

3 Plecos? If they are Hypostumus Plecostumus, then that will not work

I LOVE FISH!! (Or at least tiger barbs, platies, catfish/plecos, and some discus)

I don't know about the ADF's but I keep otos and pygmys with my bettas and have had no problems at all.

If you don't stand up for something you'll fall for anything...
