Betta and indostomus????

Hello everyone! I have a betta fish living in a fluval edge. I want to move him to a 10 gallon but I am already planning indostomus crocodilius for the ten gallon. I really want them but I also want the betta in the ten gallon. He is very peaceful but I don't want to risk him killing an indostomus. The tank will be planted with wood and rocks and lots of hiding places so the fish should be safe from the betta but I'm not sure if it would work out. Any help?????

Here are some links for info on indostomus

Even if the betta doesn't kill it it would very likely outcompete it for food.

Everything happens for a reason, but the reason isn't always good.

I will be feeding the betta his betta bio gold and the indostomus daphnia and other small foods. Do will a betta eat daphnia microworms and BBS?

Also take a look at their required water temps, 80 is doable but I would think they'd do better in the range of 70-75, being in higher temps will cause their metabolism to speed up and thus a shorter life, not by much but just shorter. That is, if the Betta doesn't steal the food first unfortunately :-/ I would suggest perhaps just get a 5 gallon for the Betta and do the Indostomus's in the 10, perhaps with the trio of Dario Dario (one of my faves haha), that would work well

Yeah, temp is one of the first things I look at now haha, although sometimes I miss it as well
