That is what I was afraid of. :(

"Bottom line is, even if you see 'em coming, you're not ready for the big moments. No one asks for their life to change, not really. But it does. So what are we, helpless? Puppets? No. The big moments are gonna come. You can't help that. It's what you do afterward that counts. That's when you find out who you are."

I just started cycling my 10 gal tank with my betta male alone in there, the lady at the fish store suggested some more fish to help cycle faster.... should i add 2 corrys and a shrimp maybe?

Aww eMel I'm sorry to hear about your cory cat. I had 2 platies in my 10gal temporarily with my very grumpy rainbow shark. My original plan was to put them in my 40 gallon but the filter ended up malfunctioning and with such cloudy water I was not going to put them in there. The rainbow shark will chase anything that comes into his tank. The platies were smart and stayed near the top on the opposite side of the tank. My red wag survived but my sunset did not sadly. He/she passed away yesterday actually. I imagine from the stress of being hunted. He was the bigger of the 2 and now the shark barley notices the other guy. I'm hoping for my filter to come in the mail this week! So I can get him outta there.

I dunno if adding more fish would help it cycle faster. I know adding more fish when it is not established will make ammonia and nitrites rise faster and if you do that you have to stay ontop of those water changes.
