Emerald Corys with Tango

Okay, so I really, really wanted a bottom feeder for my 16 gallon. I've been going back and forth about it. My friend at Petco convinced me to try out 3 emerald corys. After a big to-do with trying to get them acclimated to tank, I put them in with grumpy Tango. At first I was worried. He seemed to be chasing them around. He flared, he put on a big show. They just kinda hung out together in the corner. Then I saw him just swimming around them. Not flaring or anything. I swear it seemed like he was trying to hang out and fit in.

They're VERY active little guys. I didn't know what to expect but they were high energy in the store. They shoot up almost to the top and then they all arrow back down to the bottom to land in a pile. Anyway, so far so good. Tango seems interested in what they're checking out but he's not huring them at all. He almost acts like he's playing with them.

I'm glad everything is going well with your betta and the cories.

Thanks! Day two and all is still well. They even had breakfast. They're active and interesting to watch. Tango has decided to ignore them now. Sometimes he seems to watch them with interest but he's done playing with them. So a very grumpy betta can do a complete turn around. Maybe it was all an act. :)

I'm working on a pic. They are SO fast. I'm like ... click... and there's nothing in the frame. Lol!

I found out they're not really corydoras, but they're peaceful guys anyhow. They'll get bigger then I'd hoped (3 in) but with 3 and Tango, that's still okay for 16 gallons I guess.

Here they are! Two of them anyway. The whole time I'm trying to take a picture, Tango keeps hamming it up in front. I have about 20 pics of different parts of him now. Silly betta. I can hear the inner monologue.. "Hey! Lookit me! Hey! Here, over here! Hey!"

Love them!!! I want to get some cories sometime.... But, I'm obsessed with dividing tanks.
