Is this overstocked?

Ive got a ten gallon with 6 albino corys and 6 scissortail rasboras. According to aqadviser scissor tails cant live in a 10 gal, is this true? Also are these species compatible with bettas?

Scissor tails grow to 6 inches, so no they are not appropriate for a 10 gallon. 6 full size Corys are too much for a 10 as well, IMO.

I have a friend with a 150 gallon to take the scissortails once they get bigger.

Some fish that do grow large can be stunted in a smaller tank which is painful. I'd have your friend take them ASAP.

150 gallon is a terrific tank for them - I would move them immediately. They are not going to develop properly in a 10 gallon.

I feel so dumb for not doing enough research before picking out fish :/
What would you recommend I get instead?

Nano fish, like a group of embers tetras. A 10 is a small tank.

You could also get some pygmy corys, the albinos really should have more room than that. You could easily have 6-8 pygmies in there though.
But I would either have a group of bottom feeders OR a schooling fish, not both, especially if you also want a betta in there.
