Got my betta's some new friends

So today, my mom decided to go to petsmart and buy some new fish for her tank. She brought me home a blue mystery snail and some cory bottom feeder?

Well I put the snail, who's name is Robert, in with my male betta, Sky. Sky's tank is a sectioned off part of a 10 gallon. It gets no circulation so I thought a bottom feeder would be nice. At first, the snail didnt bother him. But when it started to move, he went after it. He literally took a chunk out of it. I watched him spit it out. So I removed the snail and put it in my females side. I took the cory fish out of my females side and put it in his side. He notcied it right away and went after it. He bit it and shook it. I paniced and took the cory out too.
Is this normal behavior? Or should I just put them both in my females side?

I'd say put them both on your females side. Your male seems to not tolerate ANYTHING in his territory. So, for the snail and cory's sake, don't put them on his side =)
