Now I am thinking to add 6 Neon tetra and 10 Red cherry shrimp.

will it work out. I heard that Neon tetra will nip my betta and betta will eat shrimp.

And also read that they will work also.

I am now confuse

As everyone always says, it depends on what your Betta's personaility is like. Cody has a very friendly personality, so i decided to put 4 neons in there with him and so far there hasn't been any flaring, tail nipping or conflicts.

I only had him since yesterday but he was housed with the neons at the pet store and they were all getting along smoothly :P

As for shrimps, i don't really know as i have a snail in mine. Might try shrimps soon.

My 6.1 Gallon Tank
Purple Veil Tail (m)
Neon Tetras
Water Snail

I used to have some ghost shrimp.

My betta flared at it for a minute, then stopped and never bothered it again.

I don't know how it would react to other fish though - just depends :)

As for the shrimp, i don't think they cost too much, so you could buy one and see how your Betta reacts, and then if they get along well you could maybe add one or two more.

If hes friendly you could also try neons, but you need at least 4 or 5 as they are a schooling species of fish.

I have two ghost shrimp in with my guy and they're fine. I'd go with ghost. They're better able to hide then the cherry shrimp due to their 'ghostiness'. :D

16 Gallon-4 Corys, 3 Endler's, 5 Celestial Pearl Danios
10 Gallon: Male King Betta-Kilo
5 Gallon: Male Marble HM-Logan
5 Gallon: Dwarf Puffer-Huey
5 Gallon: Male VT-Tango

I don't think 8 gals would be enough for neon tetras and shrimp. i would personally go with the shrimp. Your betta may or may not eat them, depending on his personality.
