Adf feeding problem with Betta.

Hi folks,

My Betta Peaches is in a 6 gallon tank with 2 ADF,they get along fine and have been for some time now, the only problem is feeding, because the ADF take ageees to find food, Peaches has already gobbled it all up before they get to it.

As a solution i drop the ADF food in a little saucer so they know it is in the same place and have a big net which i put Peaches in just up the corner of the tank, this net is about half the size of the tank so he has plenty of room to swim around, he is in this for a maximum of 10 minutes.

Long story short, is this net going to stress him out?

Bit of added info, Peaches gets fed every day with his normal flake food and bloods worm on alternative days same as when the frogs are fed theirs.

What you could actually do is net up the ADFs, hold the net "opening" above the water so the betta can't swim in (but keep the net "content" with the frog(s) in the water!) and drop the food in the net. Then the food is right near them and they will not have to fight for it. Myself and others have used this method with good results. Sometimes the frog will even learn to approach the net because they know it means feeding time!

Wouldn't the food just fall right through? They get bloodworms and pellets alternative days

You would have to use a fine-cloth net. Like the ones at Petsmart (Top Fin) or one like this... I haven't seen a lot of fish nets that have holes big enough for food to go through them.

I never had that happen! Here's a Youtube video with a woman showing how she feeds her frogs with this method: link
