Hey guys! I know I haven't posted in forever, but I need your help. I'm moving next week, and when everything gets settled I'm planning on a getting a pair of otos for my tank. I was wondering if they can tolerate aquarium salt, as I put a little of it in my tank after each water change. I heard scaleless fish can't be in salt but I don't even know if otos have scales. Also, will they ONLY eat blanched zucchini, or will they eat algae wafers too? I understand they're very picky.
It often burns them. Otos are extremely sensitive, just warning ya, they often won't even eat zucchini. So if you have an algae problem, get them. But if you don't, don't get them...
Oh, I do. I need a clean-up crew. This article I read said that they ONLY eat zucchini. I guess I'll go through trial and error for food. Yeah, I was thinking that salt would give them burns, catfish are often like that. So I guess I'll just do frequent water changes with no salt. How long do you guys think it'll take to get all the salt out of the tank?
You could do a small water change every day for about 10 days then get your otos. Get at least two.
