I just love my nerites, especially the colithian coronas...they look like lil bumble bees on the plants. Some of mine are starting to get big, and they do a great job with keeping the glass clean. As long as they have enough to eat, they should be fine. It is best to add them to an established tank.
I keep rocks in a jar in the sun to make algae rocks to feed them when the tank looks like there is nothing to eat, and add a piece of cuttlebone to your tank to keep their shells strong. I shove the cuttlebone under a piece of the bog wood in the tank to hold it down.
I asked once how would I know if they need to be fed...the answer is they will write "food" in snail slime on the glass - lol.
btw...nerites need a lid on the tank as they will ecape.
