I am not familiar with this fish.. they're livebearers, right? Personally, I would do more research and ask other Ameca splendens keepers what they think. From what I understand the males can be aggressive and territorial to fish who get too close to their females. That may be a potential problem. Most livebearers are social fish that benefit from interaction with their own kind, I'm not sure that it's proper to keep these fish singly. When kept singly, many social fish will be inclined to lash out at slow-moving fish like bettas.
