Petstore employee said he kept 20 males together w/o dividers...

No typo there. lol

He saw my females and yellow HM in my cart & got really excited, saying he loved bettas,
and I should bring him pix of mine, talking about AquaBid...he was cute too, but the all male
tank comment just threw me off otherwise I would have flirted. lol
I'm tempted to go back & ask to go to his house to see this tank for myself!
When he said it I wanted to press further but I don't like being confrontational.

Is this crazy or what?

Crazier then a sack of cats.

Almost as crazy as my trip yesterday to Petsmart, where I got into an argument with an employee when he said Betta's only needed half a gallon each, and liked cold water. He was trying to sell this woman a 1 gallon divided keeper with one fake plant. I told her that they needed 2.5 gallons and a heater and water changes.

She bought what I suggested ;)

What the heck? I could only see that 20 male thing working in some freaking HUGE tank! Like humongous so that they all had their own sections of the tank.... That's insane though, who'd want to risk it??

Maybe he was trying to impress you, though in an odd way? LOL

Either way, I don't believe a word of it unless he's bought a little section of the ocean for himself.

Well I guess it could work....dominance issue but in a HUGE tank (or pond...). Since he's a petstore employee he's obviously lying.

Who am I? Well I am a Junior Member of the International Betta Congress and a breeder of white HMPKs, red dragon HMPKs, black/red dragon HMPKs, metallic multi HMPKs, blue masked HMPKs, and now multi color HMs. Soon to add black HMs. I will be showing in New Breeder class in fall of 2012.

Ya I don't know, even if I had a gigantic tank...Why buy gorgeous fish & then risk having them
ripped to shreds?? Plus, I like to be able to look at each of mine everyday...I couldn't keep track of that many all together! I call BS...

You should have asked him how big is tank is! I suppose it would be possible in a huge tank...that way if he told you he kept them in 20 gallons or something, you know he's lying...

Though if I had a huge tank, I'd rather have an Arowana.
