The question you need to ask is "Was it really dead in the first place?".

In my experience there are only 2 signs that let you know the snail might be dead; A strong smell of decay (kind of like rotten eggs), Pulling on the trap door and they don't resist/pull back.

Anything else and it may just be going through a dormant cycle.

Howl - Royal Blue Veil Tail
Blaze - Blue and Red Delta
Mi - Blue Lady

I think I remember reading that snails may go into a very inactive state for many days, then "wake up" and get back to business. Might just look like they're dead, but just sort of in a dormant state.
