Legless Ghost Shrimp?

Ok, is there a stage in the shedding cycle of a shrimp where they have no legs? In the midst of my cories getting sick, I went to clean out the QT tank I had them in and I noticed one of my shrimp had no legs. I went to pull him out, thinking he was dead, and he didn't jump or do any of the normal suicidal trying to land on the floor things they always do. He just sort of curled up for a second, then uncurled. I couldn't bring myself to flush him if he was still alive, so I put him back. The next day I looked in and both shrimp were happy and had all their legs...

I don't know if they will kill each other but if one dies the others will eat the corpse.

They are scavengers. They will eat a dead shrimps body. However, your shrimp are probably dying from the bad care they receive during shipping, or they all molted and hid.

I only have 1 betta left, but he's a cool blue marble!

They do shed complete shells which look an awful lot like dead shrimp floating around... Are you sure you're getting an accurate count and none of them are hiding? They go even more see-through than usual for a bit after they shed.
