Fish Store Betta Community Tank?

So my lfs usually has a very small supply of bettas. Every time I go they have 2 or 3 in like 1/4 gallon bowls. This time when I went in they had the same 2 or 3 like always and they also had a bright red veil tail in a tank with some guppies or mollies or something , some cories and neon tetras. I think it was a 10 gallon tank. Usally when I've seen male bettas in community tanks on Youtube they're very lethargic and boring but this betta was so vivid and happy. Anyone else seen this?

10 Gal. Divided Tank:
Bright orange Male VT Betta - Buckethead
Blackish body with turqoise and red-orange tail Male CT Betta - Suicune

Other Pets:

  • 2 cats - Stinker(M)and Smudge(F)
  • 1 Syrian Hamster - Rocky (M)

RIP Calypso [12.17.11] and Kwimby [3.29.12]<3

Hi
Where i live in the uk, they always have the bettas in proper tanks with other fish and they all have seemed very happy. I don't think we put them in cups in this country ( well not in any of the shops that i have ever been in). I suppose it depends on how much room, or how many tanks a shop has.

every betta has its own personality.

all those fish listed are compatible with bettas (w/varying success from fish to fish).
