Is it just because he's new, or...?

I got Jade yesterday. He's a white halfmoon betta with red and blue accents on his fins. I've got pictures of him up in my albums, if you want to see him.

Granted, his side of the tank (I have a divider in a ten gallon-- Leliia's on the other side) has a little decor, but nothing to really hide in. He does wedge himself between the giant green rock and the divider, maybe that's his hiding spot.

Anyway, is it because he's in a new environment that he wants to attack any fish I've tried to introduce him to?
Even Dragon (a ghostfish) had to swim away like crazy. And he was in a bag. o__O

There will be some agression, until the betta makes sure the other fish knows whose territory it is. After that he should stop. If not, then he is not compatible.

I only have 1 betta left, but he's a cool blue marble!

That makes sense... but I know the fish I've tried to put in there are compatable, given that the other betta fish they've been with have gotten along fine. Must be the territorial thing.

Well, every betta is different. Mine would shred another betta, but is docile with tankmates. My other male hates tankmates, but is much more docile.
