New things!

These aren't going with bettas (maybe), but I thought I would talk about them. I went to the GSB meeting at anthony mazeroll's house. He has an awesome aquarium! It is larger than my bathtub! Then he has his awesome fishroom full of stuff he caught himself in peru. I am going to buy some corydoras, wood cats, and banjo catfish from him. He gave me a huge mystery snail, and tons of plants. I also have a 2 new 1 gallon tanks I filled with plants and use for shrimp. Then I got a 2.5 gallon tank for free! Then he gave me marbled crayfish and red cherry shrimp for free

I only have 1 betta left, but he's a cool blue marble!

I have a pic of the shrimps tank in my pictures thread, but I can't seem to get a pic of the shrimp or crayfish. The snail is also in my pictures thread. I can't get a pic of my new plants in the ten gallon because it is a very dark amazon blackwater setup.

I only have 1 betta left, but he's a cool blue marble!

You should google them. They self clone, are all female, are non-cannibalistic (a rare thing in crayfish), and don't eat other fish! If anyone wants one I am selling as soon as they clone themselves. My prices will be 6.00$ for a young one, 10.00$ for a female that has never had eggs, and 15.00$ for females that have had eggs (every time they get eggs they have more babies), and 35.00$ for a female carrying eggs. The female's carrying eggs are expensive because you are basically buying 1 adult+ 400-1400 babies every time.

I only have 1 betta left, but he's a cool blue marble!

Wow, congrats, that's so cool. I googled the marbled crayfish, they look awesome! I'd love to get one if the timing is right. :3

So true about the marble crayfish...neat creatures.....my first female I got is now going on 5 years old and still producing..she is roughly 5.5 inches....true they don't eat fish but they will snap off their tails and they will eat all your plants and any extra snails....they love common snails.....I keep mine in a sand based tank with lots of oak leaf litter and toss plant clipping from my other tanks in their tank...I can't keep plants rooted- they dig them up as fast as I root them...lol....messy buggers too...

Check your local laws-some states will not let you ship marble crayfish to their state...just like some snails and plants......

Some people don't think about our native ecosystem and release them and since they clone they can out-compete native species and upset the ecosystem.....same with some snails, shrimp, tropical fish and plants...not to mention the tropical pathogen they can introduce that native species don't have immunity to.......can be a big mess.....Never release anything from your aquarium into the native habitat...not even plants and animals you collected from the wild.....they must be properly destroyed and deposed of........

Congrats on all your new critters....your collection is growing......
