Arrgh!

So, Sir Lefty has decided he likes algae wafers. Now I have to leave my snail in a cup of water, floating in the tank overnight. Why? Because snails are slow eaters, and I can't stop Lefty from eating the algae. So my snail is in the cup with a broken up algae wafer for the night. I left about half an inch of the cup empty so he can crawl out of the water if he wants to. Annoying, but necessary.

I find my snails love blanched organic lettuce/spinach/carrots and my bettas won't touch them.

Most algae wafers use things like fish meal which make them smell awesome to a Betta. It's a sad thing we have to live with as Betta owners.

Edit: you can also find recipes for homemade food that the Betta MIGHT not go after, just google homemade snail food. Most are similar with slight variations on ingredients but it's worth checking.

It's a nerite snail. They are picky. I already tried blanched vegetables. He wouldn't touch it.

Mine (either) wont go near the wafers. What kind are they?

That blows, though :c but at least you have a way to do it! (And a way that eliminates the stinky algae wafers in the tank lol!)

They're Hikari. That's all my LFS had, except for another larger bag from a different brand that cost $8.
