I bought my Endlers today, super exciting! So before I released them into my 10 gal tank with male Betta, I put the betta in a breeding box. And let me tell you, he does not like his jail cell. My question is, how long should I keep the Betta in box before I introduce him to his tankmates?
Turn the lights off and let him go. I have five Betta-based community tanks and never segregate the Betta when introducing new critters. It is much less stressful for the Betta.
Turn tank light off
Float new residents' bag
Release in dark tank
Leave lights off at least an hour but more is better. This gives the new critters a chance to learn their new habitat in peace.
Endlers do well in 10 gallon tanks but not really in anything less. I had a tank of male Endlers and Dwarf Panda Guppies. If you can find them, Dwarf Panda Guppies would also be a great addition to the tank.
Thanks for the feedback and suggestion!! The Dwarf pandas just might be my next purchase
