Female Betta in community

Does anyone keep one female in a community instead of one male? I read a lot of 1 male Betta plus cories or platys etc but I'm wondering if keeping a female that way also works?

It still works. Females aren't much different, except they can chase other fish for longer.

I only have 1 betta left, but he's a cool blue marble!

I have had a female in my 10 gal community for months. She's the sweetest little thing - never even seen her chase around any other fish. I keep her with 4 platies (and fry) and 3 cories.

Crowntail lover, I am just setting up a 10 gal I inherited. I was going to move my little guy into it but have decided to just upgrade him on his own, as he is very aggressive. So when I get a new Betta for the community I want to see if it can be a girl in case I find one I decide I need to bring home.

Thanks Alex09!

Oh okay. Well a female would go great in a community. But you have to keep in mind, that some bettas just cant be housed with other fish... So make sure to have a back up plan

Thanks! I will have a solo setup for him or her if they don't get along. I know it depends on all the individuals.
