How to fast a community tank?

So I have a 20 g community with a sorority of five girls and their friends the albino cories (7). The girlies have been looking very plump since I got the cories, and I know it is because they have been munching on their wafers. It is definitely bloating, not their eggs. My questions are:

If I fast the girls, can the cories also go without food for a day or two?

If the fasting does not help the bloating, how could I do an epsom salt treatment? I don't think the cories could handle that.

I have tried to feed the wafers at night, but I guess the girls find them any ways because they have stayed plump.

The cories will be fine with the fasting.

I only have 1 betta left, but he's a cool blue marble!
