Question 5 gal buddy

I was thinking about getting a snail or ghost shrimp for my 5 gal. How many can you get of either? Do they eat different food?

You can get 5 or so common pond snails. I would do 3-4 ghost shrimp.

I only have 1 betta left, but he's a cool blue marble!

Nerites are cute and wont eat your plants or breed unless in brackish (salty) water C; I love mine. They eat algae and will eat algae wafers.
Dont know about the shrimp though. Make sure they dont become a snack! ;)

thanks y'all! pewpew, I have never heard of them. I will look them up. I would hate for the shrimp to become lunch but since he is such a hungry little fellow, it probably would.

My ghost shrimp hold their own against bettas, and my bettas give up bothering them.

I only have 1 betta left, but he's a cool blue marble!

If you going shrimp route, buy a single and see how they interact. My male betta hates shrimp in his 5. He does not go after them as a curiosity. He is full attack mode. I can hear a loud thump of his snout smashing against whatever object he ran into during stalk mode. No size ghost shrimp will survive if he is able to land his full body momentum on an unsuspecting shrimp.

No, I couldn't blame him. I would do the same if I was him.
