Tankmates for female betta

So I might be housing my tiny new female betta in a 2.5-3 gallon tank. Is it possible I could put in several ghost shrimp with her and possibly a snail without being overstocked?

Not a snail, but maybe like three cherry shrimp? I think ghosties are too active for that size.

That works. I don't think they'll bother her.

so today, I did as I said, and picked up two ghost shrimp, and also three White Cloud Minnows, and then put them all in the tank together :D they seem to be getting alone just fine so far.

You can't put any other fish in there. Only shrimp or a snail. White Cloud Minnows and a Betta can't be in five gallons, it is too small. Ten gallons at the least. Also their temperature ranges don't really match. The minnows prefer water in the 68-70 range, and as you know bettas like 76-80. I would return the minnows, or get another tank for your female.
