Stocking a 10 Gallon... Need Advice.

Me and my friend just got a 10 gallon tank for a dollar at a sale. We wanted to stock it with betta's and i was wondering what would be best for our tank. Some people on the internet say you can have a male with a lot of females and some say that wont even work. But that is what we would like to do if possible. Please give us advice on what you think would be best for our 10 gal.

You could have a sorority of 4-6 females, but dont keep males with females ever. Or males with males. You could have one male or one female betta with other fish, such as cories.

1 Male ~ 5 Females
3 Bronze Cories
1 Hamster
Soon, 1 cornsnake!

You could have:

Sorority, 5-6 FEMALE bettas.

You could of course have one male or one female by themselves.
Or you could keep one male with a few other tank mates (not other bettas)
Or a female with a few other tank mates (if you didn't want a sorority)

You could also split the tank, a MAX of 4 times (that's enough room for 4 males, each getting 2.5 Gallons, without them being housed 'together')

in my 10 gal, i have one male betta and one mystery snail. people complain about how dirty mystery snails can be, but i love mine. he's fun to watch. particularly when he's eating. i may add some cherry or ghost shrimp in later. they SHOULD be able to work together. they may not though. that's the risk you take when you put anything in with a betta. other people have suggested other types of snails, otos, and cories. I've even heard of people having success with guppies and mollies. Though that's a big risk one takes. They are pretty showy and nippy! of course, you could always do the sorority. i've heard people say that a person new to fish or new to bettas shouldn't try a sorority right off. just some stuff to think about. good luck!!
