150 gallon Tank, odd tank mates.
I have a huge 150 gallon tank, and up until a couple weeks ago I had a 2.5 gallon tank with my Male betta in it. My mischievious 2-year old daughter cracked the betta tank, so as an emergency I placed my betta in the 150 gallon tank with the current residents.
The current residents of the 150 gallon tank include: 6 captive bred American Bluegill, a plecostomus, two algea eaters, and a couple small sunfish.
The Betta has claimed a territory near the top of the tank on the roof of a Castle (a circular area about 6 inches wide and about 12 inches from the surface). He seems to stay there most of the time. He isn't bothering the other fish, and they seem to leave him alone. The bottom-feeders have never been to the top of the castel that I know of.
As I live 70 miles away from the nearest pet store I won't be able to get a replacement tank for the betta any time soon. Should I just leave him there, or place him in a different container?
