Yeah, and the nice thing about epsom salt is it's cheap. Since everything else about bettas is expensive, it's nice to find something they need that's cheap. And you can use it yourself if you get a muscle ache! Good to soak sore feet in, too.

ohh thats a good thing that its cheap, about how much do i put for five gallons?

oh and this question is kinda not about the salt, but i cleaned my two gallon tank today and i was wondering how often should i clean my five gallon? and when i say clean i mean 100% water changes, for my five gallon i did a 100% water change just last week. since it has a filter i was thinking every 2 weeks or so?

For the epsom salt, the starting dosage is 1 tsp per gallon but it can go up to 3 tsp per gallon for serious cases. So for your 5g, put in 5 tsp.

For your 5g with a filter, it's once a week, 50%. For your 2g, it's twice a week, 1 50% and 1 100%. Unless your 2g is also filtered, then it's 1 25% and 1 50%.

okay so im doing 100% water changes for my 5 gallon once a week. And for my two gallon instead of doing 50% once a week and a 100% later is it okay if im just doing 100% twice a week

Yeah, it's fine if you want to do two 100% a week as long as you and your betta are comfortable with it.
