Exclamation Acclimating Process

Hey everyone!

I'm planning a community tank with 1 Male Betta fish, 5 Harlequin Rasboras and 3 Panda Corys (or 5 Ghost Shrimps). I have a low current, heated 15G tank.

I was wondering how I should go about introducing the fish into my tank? I was thinking of buying my fish in a span of 1 week. I would by 3 Pandas first and introduce them to my tank (using the proper acclimation method). A few days later I would buy and introduce 1 male Betta into the tank (again using the proper acclimation method). The tank has a few live plants and a lot of hiding places. I thought having the Pandas in first well give them a head start in settling into the tank, followed by my Betta a few days later. Lastly, I would introduce my Rasboras and acclimate them.

My question is, how would you guys go about stocking your tank with 1 Betta, 5 Rasboras and 3 Panda Corys? And is my procedure reasonable or can it be improved?

All feedback is appreciated :D

Personally I would go with least aggressive first in the tank, which would be the bottom dweller corys. Then I would add the second less aggressive which is the peaceful middle dweller Raboras. Then I would add the male Betta. Give everyone a chance to know the tank before he's added. I would also go this route so you don't overload your cycle with such a large load of new fish lol

Is your tank cycled?

That's how I would do it.

Yes my tank is cycled :)

I had the same kind of thinking too! I just thought the Betta would be more stressed if added last in a tank with already existing fish. Any ideas on how long I should wait in between adding fish as to not overload my cycle?

Myself, I wait 3-4 days between adding fish. Although *hides* I added most of my fish into my 29g without any issues. But I also seeded my tank with a 200g goldfish filter... I had more than enough bacteria working in there haha
