Exclamation Cherry shrimp

I'm looking to get some cherry shrimp for my 10 gal betta tank. Poseidon the betta is cool with having other fish in his tank. He lives peacefully with 2 phantom tetras. So, I know he can handle other fish, but will he try to eat them? I don't know if this will affect the outcome but he ABHORS the freeze-dried brine shrimp I try to feed him. He refuses to touch it, so perhaps he will do the same with cherry shrimp?

Thanks. Good to know it's not impossible. I'm going to guess, since Poseidon is a more socially oriented betta, and it's not impossible to keep them, it should work.

I'd actually suggest adding a few more tetras. Tetras are shoaling fish and do much better in groups of at least 6.

You can also add some shrimp but in my experience eventually the Betta will kill them. I had a betta in with cherries for months and one day he decided he was going to kill them all.. and he did.

IMO the betta isn't sure he can eat the shrimp until he tries... and ones he realizes he can kill them its basically all over from there.
