Nervous about betta and tankmates

I usually don't do this. Usually I research the heck out of something before making a long and informed decision, especially when it comes to animals. But today on a rare impulse, I bought my first female Betta. I put her into a ten gallon with three peppered cories, one false julii cory, and one platy. So far, she has been really stressed. I can see her stripes and she has been lashing out at any fish who approaches her, especially my platy who keeps coming up to her. Is this normal? Will she calm down, or should I move her to a backup tank before something happens? She hasn't actually hurt anyone, just flared and chased anyone who comes near her, sometimes giving a little nip. I am nervous because I had a male betta in this tank last year, and he ended up killing one of my beloved cory cats. I appreciate any opinion.

Is she Chasing them at all? You made a mistake by not QT, or Quaritine( if you don't know, sorry if you do) to make sure se doesn't come in with any diseases. I would remove her and Quartine her, but since you already added her I guess it doesn't matter. In my opinion, I would move her, I had something similar happen to me with my betta and platy, and he stressed her out too much, so I removed him. If she is stressed, I would remove her.

She does a quick chase or flare if the others, mostly the platy, come up to her, then goes back to wandering around the tank. I didn't know I was supposed to quarantine, I have never done that before, oops.

The cories should be fine, seeing as there are 4 of them, but the platy is a no-no. I put Diablo, my betta, with my platy, and he chased her and tried to bite her. He couldn't catch her, but she got super stressed. I wouldn't try platies and bettas unless you have 3 platies, and in your 10 gallon you can't do that, it would overstock it. Right now it's at right about it's stocking limit, maybe slighty over, but platies poop constantly so you can't add more of them now. I would move the betta, move the platy, or move the cories and get 2 more platies.

Ok, I will move her to a 1g bowl I have. I can buy a bigger tank tomorrow. Will she be ok for now in an unfiltered, unheated bowl?

For one day? She will be fine for 1 day, as long as your house temperature is in the 70's. What size that are you planning to get?

Planning on a 3 gallon kritter keeper. I have extra gravel and a filter already, I just need a mini heater. I never buy on impulse, but I just felt so sorry for her and she was so beautiful. Why are Betta fish so addicting?! Thank you for all of your advice, I really appreciate it!
