Khuli Loaches in a planted aquarium

Im thinking of getting a loach or two for my Southeast Black Water tank. It has sand but there will be a layer of florite under it. Think this will bother the loaches when they burrow?

Depends on how much sand is in there... And what size of tank? I suggest getting at least 4 :) they love and feel more safe in bigger groups :)

Well, do you have dimensions (inches?)?

I've been told that the footprint of my tank (14.5wX14.5dx18h) is simply not big enough to provide kuhlis with the space they need, so I don't think that yours would be either. Which is a shame, because they are amazing critters.

For kuhli loaches a base footprint of 23.6" x 11.8" (width x length) and up is recommended, since these guys grow pretty long when they mature.

There ya go :) yeah I was told a small group COULD fit in my 20 gallon, but the bioload would be a bit on the edge...
