Quick Question about Females!

I have a 5 gallon tank with 3 guppies in it and a cory catfish and I was wondering if maybe I could just put 1 female in with them? Would this work? Or am I putting too many fish in too little space? Would she get along with everyone else? I have a big hiding space decoration thing. Thanks!

I personally would say it would be overstocked, usually I don't recommend "friends" with a male in a 5g tank, so I guess that would apply to females as well. With this set up, each fish would get a gallon of water and bettas in group tanks should have at least 2.5g to themselves :( Anyway you could upgrade to a second hand 10g?

Cory cats should be kept in groups of at least 4 too otherwise they get stressed making them prone to illness and exhibit abnormal behaviors. I agree with pitluvs that you should upgrade to a ten gallon. Then you can get 3 more friends for your cory and I'm sure he'll be much happier.

Thanks for the advice! It was a case of I'm the sixteen year old and she's the employee at PetSmart and she won my mom over type deal. I'll see what I can do about the tank, but I won't put any more fish in.
