Question small fish schools?

I was wondering what small schools of fish could go with a Betta in a 8 gallon tank. but don't cost to much and don't have a large bio-load.
Help is appreciated :)

I wouldn't recommend any fish friends in anything under 10g. But price is different depending on where you live and the availability of fish. Most fish require 5+ of the same type to be happy. I'm sure someone may come along that has a solution for you, but as for myself, I wouldn't add fish :)

Shrimp would be fine, but remember that some Bettas like to make snacks out of them. I have 6 hybrid shrimp in my 15g with 6 female Bettas. They're doing ok :) Shrimp like lots of cover, places to hide and do well in larger groups 6-10. But yeah, I'd say they could be added no problem. Small bioload.

5 Mosquito or galaxy rasboras could work well in an 8 gallon tank with a betta

16 gallon - 11 neon tetras, 6 Pygmy cories, 6 kuhli loaches and 1 male Betta
15 gallon - 1 male Betta, 3 platies, and 5 guppies
6 gallon - 1 male Betta

All planted tanks

In My Opinion a Betta deserves nothing smaller than a 5 gallon tank

Hi Wolfboy, Petsmart in my area has Neon Tetras right now for $1.00 each with their Petsmart card. Those may work for you. They are small and thats a good price.

IMO an 8 gallon tank is too small for neon tetras

16 gallon - 11 neon tetras, 6 Pygmy cories, 6 kuhli loaches and 1 male Betta
15 gallon - 1 male Betta, 3 platies, and 5 guppies
6 gallon - 1 male Betta

All planted tanks

In My Opinion a Betta deserves nothing smaller than a 5 gallon tank
