Place to post about and get ADVICE for Aquatic frogs?

Ive searched this site bettafish, and TFK, for a place to post about aquatic frogs and to get advice..ive found threads here and there about them, but turtles have a section, why not froggies? Or maybe im just looking in the wrong spot?

Or if not, any advice?

Hello Lyzza! Wonderful looking frog you have there, nice and fat.

That is an African Clawed frog, and will get very large. Are you prepared to house it in a twenty gallon tank by itself? It will eat any fish that can fit in its mouth, and even some that wont.

I personally know more about the African Dwarf frogs, but a user on here, ScurvyGoat, she knows absolutely everything about the larger clawed frogs, send her a PM! I am sure she can answer everything you need to know.

I found out he was a clawed after i got him!

Ive decided to use a 39 gal tall..picture included, to house a few froggies, and a bristle nose pleco..

The tank is not ready yet, still in my basement, but the froggy is, i believe a female, and i measureed her at 1 and 1/18 inches, so im keeping him in his QT for one more night, then im putting her in m y 2.5 til the 39 gal is done.

Ive been feeding her with a long dropper of sorts, its so adorable when she eats, sometimes she just opens her mouth, latches on, and hangs there while i squeeze food into her mouth..

she had a rough start, taking an adventure across my boyfriends living room, CARPETED! But she seems rather unaffected, very active, eating everything i give her and foraging for more..shoving herself under the pot ,instead of inside, and wedging herself in between the thermometer and the glass..

Im not sure how to PM someone, but if you could send her the link to this thread thatd be great!

Make sure that the pleco is bigger than the frogs when you get it!! They will try to eat it. ACFs are eating machines, and if it moves and looks like it will fit into its mouth, it will try to eat it. Scurvy feeds hers live guppies. lol!

she doesnt get on much, but ill let her know about this thread for sure.

the pleco i plan to get is about 6 inches now, so it should grow with the frog, to keep it outta her mouth!

Im so excited, I want to start on the tank now! Patience, Lyzz, patience...lol

I would really make sure to get one that is bigger even than a full grown frog, because the frogs will grow much faster than the pleco.

Ive actually decided against having a pleco in the tank. After really witnessing what two tiny ACF can do while eating, Its best they stay species only!
