Question confused??

hi.. my CT, Pooter, is in a 2.5 gal. tank and i was thinking of getting him some small tank mates but idk what kind of fish to get for him.. i cant get a bigger tank then the one he is in now cause of money and space, so something small but not too small would be helpful.. thanks in advance...

Another fish won't fit in the tank. You could try a small snail or a couple of ghost shrimp.

+1. It's not a good idea to have anything more than a betta in the tank in any tank smaller than 10 gallons.

:/ ok... thanks.. its just that with the ghost shrimp, i read that they molt so that they can grow bigger, and i was wondering about what would happen to the skin that they would leave behind..

Mine usually end up eating the molts, or you can scoop it out easily.

It is a good idea to leave the moults in. They get good protein from eating them. :)

Let a couple betta pellets land in the gravel, or drop a half a bottom feeder tablet. They'll eat a little plant matter and any microfauna that grow in the tank.

They need a more protein based diet as they're scavengers and will eat meat. I have sinking shrimp based pellets that I give to mine. It's Nutrifin Max sinking krill and shrimp pellets. My bettas will chew on the pellets too, given the chance. In my girls' tank, I have to drop them after turning out the lights, or they'll gorge on the pellets before my shrimp get to them.
