Snails

Hey so I was thinking of getting a snail for my tank but I don't know if the tank is suitable for any friends for my betta. It is a 1.77 gallon tank I would just be looking to get one of the mystery snails at petsmart. Any comments are greatly appreciated :)

Also what temperature is suitable for the snail?

I would not put a mystery, also known as apple snail in something that small. They poop, ALOT. It is recommended to have 2.5 all to themselves.

If you can find one, a nerite snail is best because they can't breed in freshwater so there's no danger of them overpopulating your tank. Also, they stay pretty small.

I keep an assassin snail in with mine. Have one each in two small tanks. The snail helps keep the small tank clean, doesn't bother the fish and doesn't breed.
In my thirty gallon community tank I have some unwanted snails that came in with plants, I have four assassin snails in it and they help keep the pest snails in check. They are very temp tolerant.

Many of my scaly friends from my original tank from 2011 have passed, except for two! I am in the process of re-doing my tank. :)

I bought mine from a LPS. They are very hardy; I didn't even acclimate it! lol

I've seen both from LPS's here. You might find some in a LFS as well.

Yeah I saw that they have them at Petco. I will try there :) How trustworthy is Petco on their labeling with snails. I don't want to get the wrong kind
