Cories are too angelic to do much harm to your tank. I think they'd only try and eat your plants if you starved them :p

So I'm getting my ten gallon today, and my manager is going to order some pygmy cories for me. :) Eight is a good number for a school, right? ((He said it'll probably be around two bucks a fish, since I'm an employee.))

My betta drowned last night, after getting his head stuck in a makeshift decoration I've now removed, so I got a new one from work. His name is Sora, he's blue, white, and green with a red face, has the most gentle temperament of a betta I've ever seen, though he's not in warm water yet, and seems to be a cross between veil tail and crown tail. ((The crown spines aren't very long and have more 'webbing' in between, it looks really neat!)) I'm excited to set him up in his own aquarium. Definitely doing partially planted with heavy ammonia soakers to keep levels safe, plus some microbe-lift brand water conditioner for new tanks with live bacteria. This poor guy has been at my store for months, no one wanted him. :( He was living in a two gallon bowl with a dwarf frog before I cupped him.

Hopefully my tank will be fit to post on the betta home thread soon. :)

Oh, I'm sorry about your boy :( betta seem to have a knack for getting stuck in anything their head can fit through. Too curious for their own good :(
Hmm does your new boy look like he might have fin rot? If he's been in a bowl for months it could be possible, doubt he had too many water changes. He might be a full veilteil or crowntail.

He's looked like that since we got him, we're pretty good about keeping the water clean. I've taken a close look, his fins don't have any holes or rips. It's just funny shaped.

When I've got the new tank set up, definitely. I have a little pic of him in his cup, but it's on my phone, which is acting up right now.
